I put this on Wolf's boards, but wanted to pass it on to you guys as well....
Marcus, Raider, and myself all had levels of heat exhaustion this weekend... my body temp was above 101 degrees twice.
I'm going to go against my personal wishes and carry my medic bag this weekend with ice packs and "oral IVs" (think IV in drinking form) among other things. I most likely won't actually carry it with me at all times, but it'll be running distance from me and much closer than the safe zone.
Also, remember the uniforms REQUIRE long sleeve shirts and headgear... they may decide to nix one or the other, but plan accordingly. Wear your goggles so you can take your headgear off easily if needed without endangering your eyes.
Try to drink at least a gallon of water a day starting thursday, stay away from strenuous activity for the week (obviously work can't be skipped, but try not to do any extra sports outside) and just stay out of the sun as much as possible, you'll be in it enough this weekend.
Also, for fair warning I got into some poison ivy this weekend, it's cleared up because I put stuff on it right away, I'll have benedryl this weekend, so if you suspect you've made contact with some, find me and I'll get you taken care of so it's not super bothersome (don't be like kelyn and not put anything on it and wait 20 some days until it finally cleared up ).
PS If you know of ANYONE who has had heat stroke before, on your team or anyone at the game at all, please let us know... you are much more susceptible to heat stroke if you've had it once already, these people will need a CLOSE eye on them, because unlike heat exhaustion, heat stroke can be fatal.
