Umm... I've felt/heard a real one... the training ones work just fine and would actually be okayed by field owners/event coordinators. The fact that a flashbang is so hot that it can melt fire-proof gloves (including nomex) and fuse to your hand is more than enough cause to ban them. Then there is the fact that the noise explosion is way more than 120db. So go blow out your ear drums on your rap bass crap

the good thing about thunder b's is that they are reuseable. the real deal training ones are pretty much between M80s and fire crackers.

Exactly my point, the real REAL ones are the only real cool "wow" factor. Everything else is just a "meh" (and that's the point... after all, training ones are intended to have real personnel inside the room to make contact with as well as be very cost effective).
during the training the PD used a single "live" flashbang (and no one could be within sight or the same room of the impact zone) and four training flashbangs.

It's so bright it "burns" the image into your optical nerves temporarily (similar to looking directly into any bright light though, except more extreme and instead of just one spot it's your entire vision). similarly, it was thrown into a hallway, I was in a room down the hallway. It landed, exploded, and flew into my room. I still saw it flashing (mind you it only flashes once). Turns out, the explosion point was 15 feet down the hallway from my room. On one single bounce/explosion combination it flew 15 feet and still bright enough to it to catch my eyes and make me look towards it. Not to mention I FELT the concussion from the explosion, with a few walls between me and the actually explosion point. (at a diagonal even).
They then took in buckets of snow (this was during the winter) to cool it down since the carpet was starting to smoke.
